How it works

Three steps, and the middle one is nearly automatic

  1. Track

Log hours, mileage and expenses against a client and job. From your phone, on site.

  2. Invoice

Pick a client. Every unbilled entry, drive and expense is already checked.

  3. Get paid

Send it, collect through your own payment links, and watch it go Draft, Sent, Paid.

The invoice wizard

Everything unbilled, already selected

Choose a client and the wizard pulls every unbilled time entry, drive and expense for them, pre-checked. Uncheck what should wait. Set the tax rate and the PO. Apply retainer credit if there is any. That is the whole flow.

Invoice numbers increment on their own with the prefix you choose, and the app guards against collisions. Dates fill in from your payment terms and stay editable.

The invoice itself

A document your client takes seriously

One line per time entry — date, job, sub-job, task, with your notes underneath. Mileage aggregated into a single line at your rate. Expenses itemized. Your full business details in the header.

Print it or save it as a PDF from any browser. Paid and void invoices carry a watermark, so nobody has to ask which copy is current.

The differences

Where the big names give you less

These aren't opinions — each row cites the other vendor's own published pricing page or documentation, with the date we checked it.

How Track & Bill differs from Harvest, FreshBooks and Toggl Track
Track & BillThe per-seat tools
Unlimited clients on every plan — including Solo at $19.99.FreshBooks' $23/month Lite plan caps you at five billable clients. Client number six costs a $43/month upgrade.
Invoices that send and collect. Email the invoice with a Pay online button wired to your own Stripe, and track it Draft → Sent → Paid.Toggl Track's invoicing generates a PDF. Sending it, collecting payment and tracking its status are your problem.
Mileage billed on the same invoice. Drives log per client and land as a line at your rate.Harvest bills mileage only as a manual expense line; Toggl Track ships no mileage at all.

Sized for small firms

One tool instead of four, at $69.99 a month flat

Time tracking, mileage, expenses, purchase orders, retainers, invoicing and a payment link are all the same product here. There is nothing to integrate and no finance team assumed — and the Team plan is one flat price for up to 5 people, not a per-seat bill that grows every time you hire. Solo consultants pay $19.99 a month after a free trial of up to 30days.
