Terms of Service
Last updated 19 August 2026
The short version: start with a free trial (card required, nothing charged until it ends), pay only if it earns its keep, cancel in the app anytime, get your first paid charge back if you ask within 5 days, and your data is always yours to export. The rest is detail.
The service
Track & Bill is time tracking and invoicing software for consultants and small consulting firms, delivered in the browser as a web application. It is a product of Tuning Labs, Inc., an Alabama corporation. These terms are an agreement between you and Tuning Labs, Inc. ("we", "us"), the maker of Track & Bill, and they apply whenever you use the product or this site.
We built it for business use. You must be able to form a binding contract to use it, and you must be at least 19 years old — the age of majority in Alabama, where Tuning Labs, Inc. is incorporated. If you are under 19, a parent or legal guardian must create and hold the account on your behalf and is responsible for its use. It is not for children.
Your account
You sign up with an email address and a password. You are responsible for what happens under your login, and for keeping the password to yourself. In a team account, the company owner controls who is a member and what they can see.
Tell us right away if you believe your account has been accessed by someone who should not have it.
Trial and billing
Every plan starts with a free trial of 7 days on monthly plans or 30 when you prepay a year. A credit card is required to start the trial, but nothing is charged during it — your card is first charged when the trial ends, and cancelling before then means you pay nothing.
Paid subscriptions are $19.99 per month for Solo and $69.99 per month flat for a Team of up to 5 people, billed monthly through Stripe — or, billed annually, $120 per year for Solo and $599 per year for Team. Prices can change, but never silently: we will tell you by email at least 30 days before a price change takes effect, and it applies from your next billing cycle, not retroactively.
Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
Cancellation
You can cancel at any time, in the app, without contacting anyone. When you cancel, your subscription runs to the end of the period you have already paid for and then simply stops — there are no further charges, no cancellation fee, and no minimum term.
Cancelling never deletes your records. Your data stays exportable (see "Your data") and you can resubscribe later and pick up where you left off. If you want the data gone as well, account deletion is available in the app.
Refunds
If Track & Bill is not working out, email us at skrubinski@tuninglabs.net within 5 days of your first paid charge and we will refund that charge in full — no questions, no retention script. The free trial exists so you can find out before paying anything; the 5-day guarantee exists in case you find out just after.
Beyond the 5-day guarantee, monthly charges already made are not refunded when you cancel — your subscription just runs out its paid period. If you believe you were billed in error, email us and we will look at it like humans.
Your data
Your business records — clients, time entries, mileage, expenses, purchase orders, retainer ledgers, invoices — are yours. We claim no ownership of them and no license to do anything with them beyond running the product for you.
You can export everything with one click, at any time, on every plan, including during the trial and after you cancel. Account deletion is available in the app with a typed confirmation and removes your data from the live system.
And the promise a new product owes you: if we ever shut Track & Bill down, you will get at least 90 days’ notice and your full export before anything goes away.
How we handle data day to day — what we collect, where it lives, who processes it — is covered by the privacy policy, which is part of these terms.
Your clients’ payments
When your clients pay your invoices online, they pay through your own Stripe account, under your agreement with Stripe. Track & Bill generates the invoice and the payment link; the money moves between your client and you. We are not a party to your invoices, we never hold your clients’ funds, and disputes about your invoices are between you and your client.
Acceptable use
Use the product for lawful business. Do not attempt to break its security or anyone else’s, probe other companies’ data, resell access, or use it to send spam or fraudulent invoices. We can suspend accounts that do — with notice unless the situation makes that impossible.
The fine print
We work to keep Track & Bill fast, correct and available, and we take that seriously — but it is provided "as is", without a warranty of uninterrupted or error-free operation. You are responsible for your own business records and for meeting your own legal and tax obligations; export copies of anything you rely on.
To the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim arising out of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
These terms, and all implied and express guarantees and warranties relating to the service, are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
If we make material changes to these terms we will post the new version here, update the date at the top, and email account holders before the changes take effect. Continuing to use the product after that means you accept them.
